The commonly known Seven Ancient Wonders of the World were all man-made monuments, selected by Philon of Byzantium in 200 B.C. Today, only the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt remain.
His selection of wonders was essentially a travel guide for fellow Athenians, and the stunning sites were all located around the Mediterranean basin, the then-known world.
The monuments he chose, to be remembered in perpetuity, were:* The Lighthouse of Alexandria
* The Temple of Artemis
* The Statue of Zeus
* The Colossus of Rhodes
* The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
* The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
* The Pyramids of Egypt
All had been built between 2,500 B.C. and 200 B.C.
Now, just as Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games in 1896 with his modern version of the competition, New7Wonders founder Bernard Weber is seeking to revive the concept of the 7 Wonders of the World with this ambitious global campaign, the New 7 Wonders of the World.
The key difference is that, this time around, they will not be chosen by one man, but rather by millions of people all over the world.
The new wonders that are selected will be the people’s choices, and they will be drawn from...

residents, and 24 hour cctv coverage of the entire principality.Commenting on the report, local travel guide YourMalta.com were not
surprised that Malta reached Ms Mckenzie's top five safest locations,
nor that Monaco was top.'Malta has her problems with the state of the roads and some other
infrastructure, but when it comes to the people it's doubtful if you
will find a friendlier more helpful island in the Mediterranean. This
report from Ms McKenzie has come at around the same time as another

The Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland has contacted the L*sbian G*y Bis*xual Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland for their help in the content and design. Also asked for help in the distribution of the guide. Supposed to be done in 2007.

They say that that think that they should welcome everyone with open arms.
Opponents say they should concentrate more on families attractions.

Holiday island Malta ranks as one of the top five locations for safety
in the world, according to american travel writer Laura McKenzie.In her report Ms McKenzie says of the Mediterranean holiday island 'In
Malta there is no such thing as a dark and uninviting alley, while the
police force is one of the oldest in the world'.The report also praises New Zealand, Switzerland and Singapore as safe
destinations.Top was Monaco, with one police officer for every one hundred
residents, and 24 hour cctv coverage of the entire principality.Commenting on the report, local travel guide YourMalta.com were not
surprised that Malta reached Ms Mckenzie's top five safest locations,
nor that Monaco was top.'Malta has her problems with the state of the roads and some other
infrastructure, but when it comes to the people it's doubtful if you
will find a friendlier more helpful island in the Mediterranean. This
report from Ms McKenzie has come at around the same time as another
survey showing that Malta is one of the best places in the world for

| | Info needed on the Philippines... | | I plan on visiting within a year. But the ultimate plan is to actually move.So I was wondering if people could help me out and give me tips. I know a little spanish, so I am going to brush up on that. Unfortunately, I don't know where I'll end up so I'm not sure what language to learn. Someone told me if I learnt tagalog it would be useful all over. So what else should I know? I am doing a lot of research on the web, but was hoping to hear from some actual people. Thanks for your help! | |
| | Travel guides | | for a while i have been looking for ways to make money on the internet and i think at last,that i am starting to get somewhere, i have tried many different methods from writing about adsense words that are supposed to be the highest paid, to writing about abot topics that i think alot of people are interested in.
recently though I started writing hotel guides,casino guides and travel guides to las vegas,myrtle beach and Atlantic city,since i started this series my Google adsense earnings have gone through the roof almost doubling over night.
I promised in an earlier discussion that i would tell you if i was making any money and how i did it,it isnt overnight success but it seems to be a regular income.
i use a free site to write my travel guides.
| | Should the visitor bureaus target g*y people for tourism? | | Cleveland visitors bureau is hoping to bring g*y visitors to the city by designing a travel guide that features g*y owned businesses along with other attractions.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland has contacted the L*sbian G*y Bis*xual Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland for their help in the content and design. Also asked for help in the distribution of the guide. Supposed to be done in 2007.
There are about 65 cities that have made such an attemp to attract tourists that are g*y.
They say that that think that they should welcome everyone with open arms.
Opponents say they should concentrate more on families attractions.
Tourism officials say that they need to be sure that the gay travelers are safe and comfortable. Thinking a rainbow flag decal on the door of a business for identification.
So do we really need to tailor our tourism dollars on such a thing?
