| all time classic................ | | Don't you wish that they still made movies like these? Clean, Family movie - no violence, sex, nudity or strong language. Just plain and simple clean fun. I love musicals and this one i can watch over and over and i do. Have my own copy of the Von Trapp family. Today's musicals dont come near this. No matter how the movie industry tries to keep things 'clean' it always needs to venture along the sex lines somehow. How life has changed.....back in those days whoever thought there'd be age restrictions attached to what we watch. The human mind back then could not have been so dark and sinister.......it was all about humour, love, family and sheer entertainment.... | |
| | what is your favorite musical movie of all time? | | mine would be "The Sound of Music". it's a classic musical film based on a true story of the Von Trapp family, starring julie andrews and christopher plummer. the story is just so good, the actors and actresses played their part very well, and most of all, the music! i love all the songs, very unique/original, i could watch that movie over and over again!:) | |
| | The Real Sound of Music | | I have one more chapter left in the this book "The Story Of The trapp family singers" The true story about Maria Von Trapp and her family. wow how different it is from the movie and so sad. Yet it is very inspiring to see how this family went from Austria to America not knowing anything at all about our customs and ways and made a beautiful home for themselves. Their dedication and hard work paid off.

| | The Sound of Music | | This is one movie that we can see again and again. I love the songs in it and Julie Andrews was a natural as Maria. The background of Austria coming into the clutches of Germany was foreboding and the escape through the night with the help of Mother Superior was tense and yet drew laughter. We come out of the cinema with tears of joy in our eyes. These days, when I feel like a good movie, I will take out the Sound of Music DVD and played it. Then I will relieve the times of the early 1920s with the Van Trapp family. wonderful movie,this. Do you have wonderful recollection of this movie. It is an evergreen. Agree? | |
