| Is Portland going in the right direction? | | I definetly believe they are, but at first I was alittle skeptical with all the trades they made around draft time. All I know is Jarret jack is a great player and am glad to see him doing well. Also I can't wait for Darius Miles to get back on the court. | |

| | The Rise To Redemption in the NBA | | After the disastrous off season with the Illegal betting scandel and the lackluster nba championship with the San Antonio Spurs destroying the Cleveland Cavaliers, there was little reason to believe the NBA season would bring about a winning scenario.
However the 2007-2008 NBA scedule has started with a redeeming story.
The Boston Celtics led by Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen are leading the NBA in games won and are a great turn around success story. Boston, a city rich with NBA tradition and the home of Bill Russell, Bob Cousy and Larry Bird is again living up to their tradtion.
At this writing the Celtics stand 23-3 with the best record in Basketball. They are certainly a remarkable but not a suprising story.
Other surprise stories are the rise of the Portland Trailblazers even without number 1 player chosen C. Greg Oden. At this writing Portland stands 16 and 12 only 1 game behind 1st place Denver.
This has also has marked the decline so far of the Miami Heat and all time great Center Shaquile Oneal. Currently the Heat stand at 8 and 20 with prospects for this year being bleak at best.

They are a good organization and have a desciplined coach in Rivers. Next is of course LA Lakers, with Bynum back next year I expect them to be even more deadlier. #3 is Cleveland, at 4 is New Orleans and at the 5 spot is Portland (with the entry of Oden, Bayless & Batum they look really interesting).My list

They were my number one pick at the beginning of the year to repeat and so far they haven't disappointed. They currently hold a 23-4 record and hold a strong control over the Western Conference. The new addition of Artest is working out well and all is right in the world of basketball since on paper they were the best team. 2. BOSTON CELTICS
I would like to send out my sincerest apologies to the Celtics who I gave little credit to at the beginning of the year. I figured with the aging talent on their team and the loss of Big Baby Davis that they would be plumeting to about 3 or 4 in the east. To my amazement they have held on to the top spot in the Eastern Conference and are looking good. This next few weeks will be interesting since Paul Pierce is going to be out after having minor knee surgery and it is infected causing him to miss some time. 3. ORLANDO MAGIC
