Few useful tips for your eyes hope it helps all:
----------------------------------
1.Keep your computer screen within 50-60 cm of your eyes
2.Keep the top of your computer screen slightly below eye level
3.Minimize the distance between your computer screen and any documents you need to reference while working
4.Adjust lighting to minimize glare on the screen
5.Take a break every 15 minutes to focus on a distant object
6.Blink frequently
Take good care of your eyes... | |
| | Measures for Eye Care | | During a recent visit to an optician, one of my friends was told of an exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor in the US that he termed as." It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen. I Thought I'd share it with you.Step I:
After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.Step II:
Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them.Step III:
Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. Helps blood circulation for the entire body. Circulate among your friends if you care for them and their eyes. They say that your eyes r mirror of your soul, so do take care of them, they are priceless... | |
| | | how safe are contact lenses? | | my dad had a massive bleeding in his brain, and because of this he couldn't blink his eyes. this made his eye so dry. the doctor put contact lens, supposedly to protect his eye from dryness and irritation, but he got a weird reaction from it. eventually, with our hearts breaking, his eye had to be removed. do you have any bad experiences with contact lenses? | |
| | | Do you blink your eyes? | | People blink less while working at a computer or responding to mylst's discussion. Do you give your eyes 'breaks' by closing them and keep them the way for a count of five? | |
| | | Has anyone ever had any problems from wearing contacts without taking them out? | | I got really busy during December and I never took my contacts out. I slept in them day afer day and didn't change them out, forgot altogether to even clean them. I never had any problems that whole time, it never bothered my eyes, they didn't get irritated or dry. So I wonder what happens if you leave them in so long, what happens to your eyes? Does it cause damage? | |
| | Eye care | | Can anyone on here tell me the difference between a regular eye exam and a contact lens eye exam? I have just recently gotten my eyes examined, and decided to go ahead and get contacts also. The contact lens part of the exam bumped up the price by $80. I was just wanting some imput from some other people as to why there is such a price increase, and what the difference in a regular and contact exam is. | |
| | How do you exercise your eyes after long hours of sitting before your computer? | | Follow the 20-20-20 rule. It means after every 20 minutes of computer time watch to an object whcih is at a distance of 20 feet for 20 seconds. this is a very good exercise and keeps your eyes bright. Also dont keep watching the monitor without blinking. keep blinking because it waters the eyes and keeps them fresh. now and then squint your eyes bye applying mild pressure with your forefingers. these are some of the exercises. if you know some suggest some. | |
