| | Mega Bloks or Lego? | | There is always a debate over this so I want to see what everyone else thinks! Mega Bloks cost less but Lego pieces are made of better plastic. What's your view on this? Lego competitions are strict too, if there is one non-Lego piece in the design, it is automatically disqualified. | |
| | My son amazes me! (brag time!) | | My 6 (almost 7) year old son loves to make things out of sticks. He must get his building skills from his father (my husband) as DH loves to build things. Neither of us showed our son how to build things from scratch, though he is a little familiar with legos and other building toys. But still, he never built things out of the premade toys like he does from scratch. He always wants mom and dad to do it for him.:P Anyway, my 6 year old built the plane seen in the picture below. I only helped him break two of the sticks in half when he asked for help. Other than that he built it all on his own. He has built other little stick planes out of popsicle sticks, but never anything like this! When my son was finished with it we showed his father what he had made. And let me tell you his dad was IMPRESSED!!!
Do your kids ever amaze you? Or have you ever amazed someone? Please share your thoughts. | |
| | Which is normal? | | Ahhh, Christmas discussions. A seven y/o boy gets a Lego's dump truck kit and of course starts right away to assemble it. Using only picture instrution, he speedily has the cab assembled except for the roof. It won't fit. So auntie comes to the rescue and helps him work through it. She says it just comes naturally to her and has since she was 7 y/o or so. Then her sister chimes in and says it's not normal for girls to be mechanically inclined, especially so young. So which is normal? Girls being mechanically inclined at a young age or girls being not so? | |
